Our story

Nestled in the hills of Finca La Montaña, Musa traces an unbroken line from our soil to your cup. Rooted in a family tradition of Colombian coffee cultivation, our work begins long before harvest with the stewardship of our land, the preservation of our microclimate, and the discipline that guides every stage of production. This connection to our farm is what shapes the identity and standard we uphold of our coffee.
Grown on our private estate in La Mesa, Cundinamarca, each lot reflects the altitude, climate, and meticulous care that distinguish Colombia’s most celebrated coffee regions. At over 1,800 meters above sea level, slow maturation allows every cherry to develop depth, clarity, and balance. The result is an expressive cup that embodies the character of our terrain and reflects the dedication behind our craft.

Altitude

Our coffee is grown above 6,000 ft (1,800 m), where nutrient-rich volcanic soil and cooler temperatures extend cherry maturation. This slower development produces beans with refined acidity, depth, and remarkable clarity in the cup.

Variety

Our core lots are cultivated from Castillo, a resilient, high-performing variety suited to our elevation and climate. Its natural resistance allows us to safeguard quality harvest after harvest. Alongside Castillo, we release limited micro-lots of rare and exotic varieties such as Geisha and Wush Wush, offered only in small, traceable quantities.

Process

Our coffees are primarily washed, undergoing controlled fermentation and refined rinsing to highlight purity and structure in the cup. In addition to our washed lots, we periodically offer honey and semi-washed processes that showcase alternative expressions of Colombian coffee.

Water

All processing is done with clean, natural water sourced directly from our farm. Its purity and mineral balance deeply influences fermentation and the way mucilage separates from the bean, ultimately affecting sweetness, acidity, and definition in the final cup.
